THURSDAY, DECEMBER 27, 2012 Rockwood's Parade of Lights 20 Years and growing - Ted Tyler photos To the Editor, Years ago you might have asked how many dozen lights? Then, how many dozen strings? Now, how many thousand lights on your float? Every year we say it can't get better, but it does. We say the crowd can't get bigger, but it did. Conditions were right no school the next day, perfect weather and everyone says there is none like it. That's the Rockwood Farmers Parade of Lights. The restaurants, businesses and church's are all smiling. The busiest day of the year. There are many to thank for their support including: Guelph/Eramosa Council, office and roads department, the Rockwood Fire Department, with help from Puslinch, Hillsburgh and Erin. Thanks also to Wellington OPP, Fourth Line farmers for car parking, local media, Rockwood and District Lions, the Brander Family, Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elf. To the dozens of farmers and agricultural businesses who spent countless hours and dollars building these amazing floats, to the busses, trucking companies and trains and residents who were inconvenienced, we say thanks to all. Anyone missed, we are sorry. See you next year on December 12, 2013. Have a merry Christmas everyone. Sincerely, Walter Swanston, The Rockwood Farmers Parade of Lights. THE NEW TANNER 9
