Dear Editor, The budget for Halton keeps going up every year. One thing that could be done is eliminate the total waste of money putting rat poison in the water - a saving of about $200,000. Globalists and eugenicists have decided to add it to water supplies with the message to the public that it is good for teeth, despite warnings from the ADA stating that young children risk a disease called dental fluorosis. One cannot understand the universe of water without grappling with poisonous fluoride and its government-mandated entry into public water supplies in the United States, Brazil, and several other countries that have stupidly followed America's lead in water fluoridation Regards, John Shadbolt Acton, ON Holiday Hamper thanks Dear Editor, This past holiday season was made a little brighter for 458 children in Halton Hills, thanks to the many generous donors who provided assistance with the Links2Care Holiday Hamper Program. These children received gifts of new warm winter clothing, often including snow suits and winter boots. Many lower income families in our community struggle to meet their daily needs and the holiday season can put a great deal of extra pressure on these families. The Holiday Hamper Program attempts to relieve some of the financial stresses around the holiday season and the families who receive the hampers are so very grateful to have this help, and often comment that they wouldn't have known what they would do if this program didn't exist. This program involves many hours of preparation and relies on countless hours of volunteer time, as well as the time spent by our wonderful sponsors, who generously shop for specific children and donate the clothing to our program. Many people also made financial donations and gave gift cards or other gift items. On behalf of Links2Care, I would like to extend my thanks to all the sponsors, donors, and volunteers who helped to make this program a success this year. Sincerely, Cathy Gerrow Community Support Program Coordinator ABI ­ Acquired Brain Injury My name is Kevin Milton age 27, and I have an acquired brain injury as a result of a tumour wrapped around my pituitary gland. The operation was at Sick Children's hospital in Toronto in 1992. I was 7 at the time. However I was left with no short term memory and no function of the pituitary glad and damage to the optic nerve and learning disabilities. I take several synthetic hormone drug treatments and took a growth hormone and boy did it work as I am 6 ft 6 in tall and take a size 20 shoe. I graduated from secondary school with wonderful help the last two years from my EA and hard work. The last five years I have been at ABI in the adult program in Guelph at St Josephs Health Centre. This program has given me an outside activity that makes me feel like I have a purpose in life and I have made many friends and also help others. We learn to do crafts and help with other programs. We all share the same problems and I am called the jovial giant. It is so rewarding for me to learn that a new ABI is opening in Georgetown, Halton Hills. Please attend this wonderful program. The staff is both caring and fully trained to work on individual and group programming for special needs. I can't wait to get my 3 days a week.
