7 | Wednesday, April 9, 2014 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com I live in a retirement home in Bronte. A week-and-a-half ago I went out for a walk and got lost. I had no identification with me and couldn't remember the name of my home. I saw a man coming out of his house and asked him if he could help. Woman thanks local couple for helping her home He very kindly went into his house and came out with his wife and his car keys. Although they were unsure where the retirement home might be, they drove me around hoping I might recognize the area. With the help of an Oakville Transit driver I was home in no time. He introduced himself as Jim and, unfortunately, I have forgotten his wife's name. They helped me inside and left. The receptionist called my room a couple of hours later to say they had returned to drop off a lovely plant for me. What could have been a traumatic event was very much softened by the kindness of this wonderful couple. My daughters have tried driving me around the neighbourhood to find their home so I could thank them properly, to no avail. I am hoping they see this letter to express my deep appreciation. I will never forget the kindness of this wonderful couple. I was blessed. Sincerely, Dorothy -- Submitted on behalf of her mother Dorothy, Cheryl Ann Gray, Oakville Letter to the Editor Doing a lot with a little continued from p.6 Municipalities receive only 11 per cent of every tax dollar.
