It symbolizes and honours a patient's journey, CCS' Halton Unit fundraising co-ordinator Shelley Frank tells the Oakville Beaver. "As dif cult as it is for anybody to stay up overnight, it's so insigni cant when you compare it to what someone has gone through on a cancer journey," she said. "Cancer doesn't sleep, so neither should we," reads the Relay for Life tagline. The signature event is hosted by more than 20 countries worldwide, including more than 500 communities across Canada. It is meant to be an inspirational, non-competitive, 12-hour overnight fundraising event that brings the community together to celebrate life and ght cancer. see Relay on p.5 The Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides held a spring open house Saturday at its Wilson Street training facility.
