Bowling for Collars -- and the OMHS The second annual Bowling for Collars in support of the Oakville and Milton Humane Society (OMHS) will be held Sunday, April 27. For bowlers of all skill levels, the fundraiser will be held 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Burlington Bowl, 4065 Harvester Rd. The event, taking place during National Pet Month, includes two rounds of bowling, food, prizes, and a silent auction. Registration is $35 per person in advance, $40 at the door, or free with $75 raised in pledges. In its first year, the bowling fundraiser raised more than $1,000 -- this year, organizers hope to surpass that. Proceeds from the event go towards supporting the work and programs of the OMHS, which shelters homeless animals for as long as needed to find their forever homes. According to OMHS, more than 6,000 animals need its help every year -- the local humane society is a high-intake shelter and registered charity. For information or to register, visit www. bandrpromos.com/current-events/bowlingfor-collars, www.omhs.ca, or pick up a donation form at Burlington Bowl.
