M E N A C I N G P H A N T O M S Forest Trail allowed 15 points in title game continued from p.39 second quarter, Forest Trail would have all the points it would need in a 28-15 victory that capped a 13-0 season. "We're a strong shooting and passing team," said Forest Trail co-captain Avery Murray. "We all have different individual skills, but we all work well together to form a very good team," added Goodfellow, who finished with six points. Forest Trail scored the game's first five points and led 14-5 by the end of the first quarter. The Coyotes extended that lead to 18-6 by the half. Alexander's looked like it might take a run at Forest Trail as it cut the Coyotes' advantage to eight in the third quarter. Taylor Bondoc, who finished with a game-high 13 points, made sure the Burlington school got no closer, though. She scored six straight points as part of a 10-0 Forest Trail run that put the game out of reach. Bondoc showed a willingness to battle for rebounds as well as a good scoring touch, which was a benefit as she frequently went to the free-throw line. Bondoc went 5-for-9 on her foul shots, scoring more points from the line than the entire Alexander's team, which went just 3-for-11. Forest Trail, meanwhile, was 8-for-13 (62 per cent) as a team. Lauren Montanari had four points for Forest Trail. Other members of the Coyotes are Amy Ecclestone, Guilia McGuire, Jordan Merner, Aiyana Salvatore, Erica Sampson, Parker Wales and Carly Wight. The Coyotes beat Milton's Chris Hadfield 33-23 in the semifinals. -- Herb Garbutt can be followed on Twitter @Herbgarbutt 43 | Thursday, May 1, 1, 2014 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | |www.insideHALTON.com 43 | Thursday, May 2014 | OAKVILLE BEAVER www.insidehalton.com The Oakville Phantoms atom team could not have been any better defensively at the recent Caledon Minor Hockey Association Masters Tournament.
