As people paused to appreciate the work carried out by emergency services personnel, of cials said they cannot do it alone and called on the public to keep the three `P's in mind when it comes to emergency preparedness -- Prevent. Protect. Prepare. "I'd like to thank Halton's rst responders for their ongoing commitment to community safety and for keeping Halton Region the safest community in Canada," said Regional Chair Gary Carr. "As a community, we can make a difference, too, by preventing harm, protecting each other, and being prepared for emergencies." Carr said the three `P's stress the actions residents can take to keep Halton safe. Prevention includes simple deeds, such as making a re safety plan and ensuring smoke detectors are working. Protection stresses thinking ahead, such as stopping at a red light and not using a mobile device while driving. Preparedness is about being ready for emergencies, no matter the scenario. see First on p.3 · HOME · AUTO · LIFE · BUSINESS · AV I AT I O N T H E M A G N E S G RO U P I N C . 1540 Cornwall Rd., Suite #100, Oakville, ON L6J 7W5 Tel: 905-845-9793 Fax: 905-845-9149 www.magnesgroup.com END INSURANCE CONFUSION.
