The five-kilometre walk takes place at 10 a.m. at the Lions Foundation of Canada Oakville office, 152 Wilson St. There is no registration fee and all funds support providing dog guides to those in need for free. "From everyday supDo you know how your port to finding help when it's needed most, dog guides are a central part in helping many Canadians with disabilities step towards independence," stated a press release. It costs approximately $25,000 to raise and train each dog guide. The organization trains six different types of dog guides, including: canine vision; hearing ear; service, for those with a medical or physical disability; seizure response; autism assistance; and diabetic alert.
