Around 1:45 p.m., re ghters were called to an area west of the Bronte and Upper Middle roads intersection in Bronte Creek Provincial Park. Deputy Fire Chief Andy Glynn said the dog and a dog walker had been in the area when the canine apparently slipped down a steep ravine and into Bronte Creek below. The 100 lb., female dog was carried down a fastmoving stream and over an 18-metre waterfall. Park staff were able to pull the animal from the water, but it was already dead, said Glynn. "Park staff got the dog about halfway up the steep embankment, but the re department was called in to assist," he said. "They performed a rope rescue and were able to get the dog into a basket and to the top of the ravine." Glynn said the canine's body was turned over to the Oakville & Milton Humane Society (OMHS) see Fire ghters on p.2 SPRING INTO INGEBORG'S!
