Halton seeks applications for Summer Company Halton Region is now taking applications for the 2014 Summer Company Program. The initiative gives students between the ages of 15-29, the support needed to start and run their own business. Summer Company is a provincial program for youth entrepreneurship and employment that is co-ordinated locally through Halton Region's Small Business Centre. Successful applicants will receive hands-on business training and mentoring, and could receive up to $3,000 in funding to help start and run their own summer businesses. "Entrepreneurship plays an important role in innovation, job creation and economic growth," said Regional Chair Gary Carr. "Halton is proud to offer students support through the Summer Company program as it helps provide young entrepreneurs with the coaching, training, and mentoring that can help them succeed," stated Carr in a press release.
