Denis Lemelin, National President of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, said in a press release Wednesday, 46 municipalities, which include Toronto, Brampton, London and Vancouver, have passed resolutions opposing Canada Post's plans to stop door-to-door delivery. Filip, who has had a fascination with the heavy machine since he was two when his family moved into a new housing development, earned the opportunity for himself and his fellow Kindergarten classmates by simply writing a letter to Liftow Ltd. last month. With help and encouragement from his teacher Donna Lynn Galloway, the boy, in his writing assignment that was designed to motivate him through his personal interest, asked the company, located in Mississauga, if it could bring a forklift to his school. The company responded immediately -- accepting the young Oakville boy's unusual request.
