The original wooden framed church was built in 1845 on a quarter acre of donated land with an adjacent lot purchased in 1846 for the cemetery. In 1899, the church expanded and was bricked over. It was designated as a historical building for the Town of Oakville in 1974 and is the last pioneer cemetery in Oakville still in operation, according to the release.
