It's just a word," said the prominent journalist and radio executive. Znaimer, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, is the guest speaker at the Company of Women dinner, sponsored by Soft and Dri, where she will be sharing her story and insights. At the time of her diagnosis, Znaimer chose to go public with her situation, and wrote a series of articles called The Lump for The National Post. She talked about what was happening to her in practical terms, drawing on her professional discipline and curiosity to share her story. available at the dinner with proceeds going to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Virtually every Canadian has a mother, a sister, or a friend who has been touched by breast cancer. Writing a book seemed the next logical step as Znaimer wanted to get the message out that cancer is not a death sentence anymore and you can carry on living a full and productive life. Copies of her book, In Cancerland -- Living Well Is The Best Revenge, will be will provide an opportunity to share stories and hear Znaimer's take on living with cancer and moving beyond survival.
