The decision, made last week at Sheridan's board of governors' annual general meeting, will see Zabudsky continue his work as president and CEO from early 2015 to 2022. His rst term began in June 2010 and concludes February 2015. Shortly after Zabudsky's arrival, Sheridan's board of governors approved the institution's strategic plan and its ambition to become Sheridan University. Zabudsky has been working towards this goal ever since. "I am delighted to accept this opportunity to see Sheridan's journey through to completion," he said. "Sheridan has always been known for innovation in higher education. We've been rst out of the gate with see Zabudsky on p.7 The Oakville Professional Fire ghters Association kicked off its 2015 Charity Calendar, with re ghters showing off their best dance moves for a chance to secure a spot in the upcoming calendar. Held at the Operating Engineers Hall and Conference Centre, the event was also a fundraiser for the charity calendar, which supports The Oakville Hospital Foundation, Lion's Foundation of Canada Dog Guides and Ian Anderson House Foundation. The PlayZone for children will feature a bouncy castle, a pirate's den obstacle course, caricature drawings and face painting. The popular Kids' Workshop by Home Depot will also return, where children can build a bird feeder, race car, re engine or helicopter from a kit. At the Safari Science station, children can check out snakes, spiders and other creepy crawlies. New this year will be a carnival-style midway featuring games, a ferris wheel and bumper cars. Children can also experience what it might be like to be a hamster by stepping into a waterball, a plastic bubble that allows a person to run around protected in a shallow pool. Local champion robotics teams will be onhand to demonstrate their technical skills. The PlayZone is open until 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and until 7 p.m. Sunday.
