After just more than a decade of four levels of competition for provincial high school championships, a revision of the format is on the way. Starting with the 2015-16 school year, the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations championships will no longer include a quad-A level. Instead, a realignment of the remaining three levels is in the works to determine champions across Ontario for high school sports. A proposal was put forth to de- termine participants at each of the levels two years ago but was rejected. However, the issue was re-addressed in May at OFSAA's annual general meeting, with acceptance of the proposal granted, although with the door left open to determine where the numbers will eventually fall. At present, guidelines classify quad-A schools as having more than 1,250 students. Triple-A schools are 901 to 1,250 students, while double-A numbers range from 501 to 900. Schools with 500 or fewer students are classified as single-A.
