It is now on its way to the Senate for consideration. The proposed Drug Safety Bill C-17 (Vanessa's Law) will commit Health Canada to a set of concrete initiatives that would make easy-to-understand regulatory health and safety information more available to Canadians with regard to prescription drugs. The information is intended to help Canadians make well-informed decision concerning their health and that of their family. The bill is named after Young's daughter, Vanessa Young, who died of a heart see MP on p.9 As Canada Post prepares to switch 26,400 Oakville residents from door-to-door delivery to community mailboxes this fall -- some homeowners are voicing concerns about where the mailboxes will be located. Carol Road resident John Muldoon is calling on the Crown corporation to rethink proposed locations for three community mailboxes on his street. Muldoon, whose mobility has been limited following knee and hip replacement surgery, said he is not a huge fan of the change to community mailboxes, but understands the need for Canada Post to cut its budget given the reduced amount of mail they are dealing with every year. That said, if the switch is going to be done, he wants it done right and does not believe a mailbox at the north end of Carol Road, east of Dorland Road, and two boxes at the south end of Carol Road, to the east and west of Dorland Road, is the way to go. "We're saying the placement of those boxJohn Muldoon is among a group of residents opposed to the proposed location of a couple of community mailboxes coming to es needs some consultation," said Muldoon.
