Soapy Soanes Award Dr. Alexandra Ginty was this year's recipient of the Dr. E.P. Soapy Soanes Award. This award was established in recognition of the first Chief of Staff and longstanding member of the Department of Family Medicine at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH). It is awarded to a family physician at OTMH who has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the Hospital and Community in the areas of clinical practices, community health, hospital programs, continuing medical education and community involvement. Halton Healthcare Services would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Ginty on this achievement. Rooms with a view: The New Oakville Hospital has 7,441 windows! An electrifying fact: The NOH has 700 electrical panels, 28,000 light fixtures and 30,000 receptacles! All Wired up: The 5,180 km of wire in the New Oakville Hospital would stretch from Oakville to the coast of Ireland. Rest Stops: There are 650 toilets at the New Oakville Hospital. That would be enough to provide a rest stop every 8 km along the way, if you could walk across the Atlantic Ocean. Lillian H. Parsons Bursary Recipients Established in 1987, in recognition of Lillian H. (Joy) Parsons' 36 years as Executive Director of Oakville- Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH), this fund provides annual bursaries to assist children of OTMH staff with their post-secondary education. The bursary is funded through donations to the Lillian H. Parsons Bursary Fund with only the interest of being used for bursary disbursements. Criteria for selection of bursary candidates are based on academic grades, volunteer and community involvement as well as extracurricular activities. This year's Lillian H. Parsons Bursary Award recipients were: Sarah Fattore, Brianne Jean Hyde, Deanna Johnston, Christopher Martin, Emily McGrath, Kayla McLaren, Sylvia Marianna Parsons Bursary recipients with Miss Joy Parsons and Ken Needham, Member of the Lillian H.
