    The Chocolate Box and the empty store were demolished c.1989-90. They were replaced by buildings similar in style to the two on the right hand side of the picture.

    The building served as the town hall until 1985 at which time town administration was moved to the renovated Court House/Jail building in Victoria Square. This building now houses offices. For furthe
