- Jack Moulding, was a highly valued stable manager and horseman. His experience began in Lancashire, England working with carriage horses, family riding horses and hunters. He had considerable war experience in the Boer War which increased his knowledge of horses as a soldier/batman in the Lancashire Hussars Yeomanry Cavalry.
In 1910, Jack was asked to come to Oakville, to the Cox family estate to look after the family hunters, polo ponies, riding and carriage horses with stables, polo field and riding arena.
After 1924, Herbert Cox was in Canada at the estate only during the summer. Jack had the opportunity to move to Connecticut to manage the stables of an estate and this is where this photograph was taken.
