Predeceased by his loving wife Doris and by his brother Robert, he is survived by his sister Catherine Dowse. He leaves behind his daughter, Rosemary Rumsey (Charlie), granddaughter, Sally Reinert (Bernie), their children Amy and Eric, and grandson Charles Rumsey (Phoebe). Sadly missed by son Atholl Blair (Carolyn), grandson Craig (Lynsey), grandson Christopher (Catherine), their children Daisy and Austin, and granddaughter Katie. Born in Northern Ireland, Atholl was a major in the British Army and survived the sinking of HMT Lancastria. He went on to serve in Europe and the Middle East and was Mentioned In Despatches. Emigrating to Canada in 1948, settling first in Toronto then Oakville as a businessman, he was the first captain of the Irish Canadian Rugby Club. He remained an enthusiastic rugby supporter all his life. Atholl will not be forgotten by his family and many friends. He will be fondly remembered by his dear friend Mary Foxhall. He was 82. Born in Coventry, England, Jeff came to Canada at the age of 21 in March 1954. Doreen joined Jeff in Toronto in May and they were married in September 1954. Jeff had graduated from Bablake School in Coventry and was trained in aeronautical engineering. In Toronto he worked on the Avro Arrow aircraft until its cancellation in 1959. He then began a career in sales, primarily in the Canadian grocery and home products field. He finished his career as Vice President at Reckitt & Colman Canada (the successor of BoyleMidway Ltd), retiring in 1994 after over 18 years with the company. In retirement Jeff enjoyed travelling the world with Doreen, and always kept in touch with a very wide circle of friends. His warmth, charm, wit and laughter will be greatly missed by many. He was a wonderful father to Steven, Peter and Mark, and loving granddad to Ashley, Sarah, Jaclyn, Scott, Helena and John. The family will receive friends at Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville, on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. A memorial service will be held there at Noon, with a reception to follow. MEANEY, Emma It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Emma Meaney on July 19, 2014. Emma is survived by her parents, William and Marjorie Nightingale, her brothers Michael and Wayde, her daughters Jennifer and Tara Ramsay and her loving granddaughter Brooklynn.
