And there are many stories about it just waiting to be discovered - stories that serve to bring the past to life, creating a more complete picture of the beautiful and historic town that we call home.
Oakville History Makers gave young Oakville residents the opportunity to contribute to the making of a unique collective history. They were asked to interview a longtime resident about what it was like to grow up in Oakville: How did the town look? What did they do for fun? How did their family come to settle here?
This exhibit both showcases and shares with the community the stories about Oakville that its youth have uncovered, celebrating the work they have done to not only preserve the Town’s history, but insightfully illuminate the way it has changed over the years.
