Their names will be called out as they step out onto the track. A special `survivor tent' will be available for the survivors to enjoy food, beverages, and share their success stories. To date, more than 80 teams of 10 to 12 partic ipants each have registered. The relay's honourary co-chairs will be Mayor Ann Mulvale and Halton Region Chair Joyce Savoline. They will signal the teams to run, jog, and walk around the track for this 12-hour event to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society for research, education and patient services programs. The real highlight of the relay will be the Luminary Ceremony at 10 p.m., when 1,200 lumi naries will be lit. Mulvale, a skin cancer survivor, will give her thoughts on this special luminary ceremony. Luminaries, candles in bags inscribed with the names of survivors and loved ones who have lost their lives to cancer, will be lit by participants and survivors. The luminaries will be placed on the grounds near Appleby Chapel and around a portion of the track. (See Night' page C3) Peter C.
