Born in Apeldoorn, Holland on August 10, 1926. After arriving in Canada from her native Holland in 1953 she settled in Oakville. She and Erwin raised their family here and became snowbirds in the mid-80's. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 14, 2014. Renny leaves behind her sister Mary DeBoer (Tom) and brother Bill DeVries (Tilly). She will also be deeply missed by her daughter Anita Hoekstra (Garry) and son Edward (Gabriele), and her beloved grandsons Shawn Lauder, Andrew, Jason and Ryan Kwast. Renny will be sadly missed by her brother-in-law and three sister-in-laws residing in Germany, as well as many loved nieces and nephews in Canada, USA, Holland and Germany. The family wishes to profusely thank Drs. Petrea and Besik, and our home care nurses Jadwiga Puk and Carol Malcolm, who all went above and beyond in helping through her final days. The family will receive friends at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr) on Wednesday July 30 from 7pm to 9pm. A celebration of Renny's life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 89 Dunn Street in Oakville on Thursday July 31 at 11am. Reception to follow.
