The 12-year-old gallery makes its home in the Home & Design Centre in nearby Mississauga at 2575 Dundas St. W. This year's event is in the gallery's newlyopened Display Home Annex that's located in the rear parking lot of the Home & Design Centre. Just drive to the back of the main building (along the east side of Tony Roma's Restaurant) to find a large grey house. The new venue offers space to stroll around two floors in a home-like setting. Artists include Bill Saunders. Maya Eventou, John Harrington. Yana Headford. Henry Giroux. Priscilla Lakatos, Bruce Lawes and James Keirstead. The artists are expected to unveil several new pieces at the opening. Crescent Hill Gallery celebrates the works and talents of a select number of living Canadian artists whose works are in a variety of media such as oil. acrylic and watercolour. Crescent Hill Gallery says it offers a cross-sec tion of work ranging from small to large pieces cre ated by both emerging and well-known artists. "We don't sell anything here. Very early on we began to cultivate and pursue a totally different approach to interacting with our clients," said Crescent Hill owner Martin Walsh. "We seem to be affecting an incredible change in this industry by counselling our patrons to buy a work of art simply because when they look at the piece, they feel good about i t " said Walsh. "We wholeheartedly encourage our clients to take pieces of art home to try them out for a while, to determine whether they belong in their home Crescent Hill Gallery offers no-charge consult ing services that often involves a visit to a client's home to determine fit, offer advice or answer ques tions. "We do not recommend purchasing art as an investment" said Martin. "The decision to purchase has to be for personal enjoyment and for the enhancement of a room. Any appreciation in value should be considered an unexpected bonus." Ron Kuzyk · Oakville Beaver A MUSICAL TRIBUTE: T he Jo h n M acdonald A ll-Star Jazz Band brought the music of the fo rm er T. A.
