The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) con rmed the presence of the ALBH in an industrial area near Mississauga's Pearson International Airport last September. There have been no reports of the beetle being found in Oakville. The Town hopes hanging 10 small traps, which don't pose a threat to humans or animals, will allow it to detect any early signs of the ALBH and stay a step ahead of population movements. see Bronte on p.3 Wet weather dampens Civic Day celebrations by David Lea Oakville Beaver Staff While rain dampened Civic Holiday Monday activities around town, Bridget (left) and Parker Gibbons were all smiles as they enjoyed the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 486, Bronte's annual Civic Day celebrations, which also featured a performance by an Elvis impersonator. Environment Canada said the rain started falling around 2:30 p.m. with approximately 100-125 millimetres drenching Burlington mostly between 5-8 p.m. In Burlington, ooding from the storm resulted in road closures, damaged basements and forced some to abandon their cars vehicles after roadways became rivers.
