She explained the foster fam ilies must socialize and house train the puppies, teach basic obedience, and take them to as many places as possible to accli matize the puppies to malls, the GO Train, downtown areas places where they w ill go as dog guides. After a year, the foster puppies return to the Lions Foundation for six months of professional training before they're partnered with deaf, blind, disabled and medically at risk Canadians. The Lions Foundation is also looking for puppy sponsors. $4,000 for a hearing ear dog guide. $6,000 for Canine Vision Canada dog and $10,000 for a special skills dog guide.
