For the first time we w ill leave our families and embark on a journey that is entirely our own. Once again, we will have to adapt to a new school, a new way of learning, and new people. When 1 think of 2003. I think of stress. Although it will be an exciting year, it scares me to think of how criti cal it is to succeed. Eight years to work through elementary school; four years of high school and now, start all over again. As I hurry around to buy gifts, work extra hours to make some money, and finish off homework assignments, I think of Christmases past. They were so simple; write to Santa, play in the snow, get presents. Christmas now seems to take on a new meaning. With all the hustle and all the distractions I find myself forgetting what the season is really about. At this time of the year, we should all take a deep breath and enjoy the magi cal Christmas moments around us.
