And, in fact, they were even m ore dom inant than that, if you take aw ay the first couple o f minutes in w hich the Bruins fell behind 13-2, but then roared back to outscore their hosts 76-39. T he B ruins had another opportunity to really skyrocket up the rankings last night (Tuesday) as they hosted their hom e opener against their arch rival and #3 ranked Hum ber Hawks. T he host M ountaineers had no answ er for the Bruins pressure-D w hich led to 21 steals. The Bruins closed the first Bruins open with big win, hosted Humber last night SPMDAN h alf with a 13-3 run to lead 3225 at the break. T he second h alf w as all Bruins. They constantly forced turnovers at the M ohaw k point o f attack and a balanced offence overw helm ed the Mountaineers. The result w as a 35-11 run out o f the halftim e break, and Sheridan coasted hom e for the win, holding M ohaw k to 34 per cent from the field for the game. "O ur defence was excep tional," said Bruins coach Jim Flack. "We played very w ell at both ends but we still have w ork to do. We still need to get better." Ten Bruins hit the scoresheet, led by Bashir M usse w ho scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds. G eoff Proctor added a spark o ff the bench with 13 points. Sheridan opened up with a 90-69 loss to North Carolina Wesleyan, who received hon ourable m ention in the NCA A division three pre-season topten rankings. Bruins scoring was taken care o f by Kevin Dennis (18) and Bashir Musse (17). Sheridan lost 76-61 to North C arolina M ethodist, another division three school. Scoring w as taken care o f by Bashir M usse (19), Louis M oore (12) and M aurice Smith (10). N ot wanting to leave em pty handed, the Bruins concluded with a 95-85 win over Central C arolina. M aurice Sm ith hit five treys to lead the w ay with 29 points. Bashir M usse added 24 and Louis M oore 14. Oakville hoping for different results against same teams T his past w eekend is one the R anger m inor bantam A A A s w ould rather forget. On Saturday they dropped a 5-1 decision to the B urlington E agles and on S unday the H alton H ills H urricanes cam e to tow n to hand them an 8-4 loss. O akville's only m arker in the Burlington gam e w as a solo effort by Patrick M arsh. In the H urricane gam e Jonathan Brand played a solid gam e both w ays and potted two goals, w hile singles w ent to M arsh and Scott Benzoni. A ssisting on these goals were Tyler Stothers (2), Benzoni, Spencer M etcalfe and M ark Borcsok. T he Rangers face these sam e opponents this w eekend.
