Join the O akville Humane Society Sunday, March 9th when the third in a series of free family "Make A Craft for Kitty" workshops takes place at the Iroquois Ridge Library (1051 Glen Ashton). "Cats are safest when they are at home," stated Heather White, Oakville Humane Society Community Services Coordinator. "We want to help families make their home a fun place. The workshop offers a great way to learn more about cat care, while families make an entertaining toy for their cat." The event is being held as part of the "There's No Place Like Home" education campaign. The campaign, which prom otes adherence to the Town of Oakville cat by-law (#200183) requiring cats to wear identifica tion, runs until June 2003. The final workshop in the series takes place at Glen Abbey Library (Sunday, May 4). A Canadian tradition continues with the opening o f the maple syrup season at the M ountsberg W ildlife Centre. Tour the working sugar bush, prac tice tapping a tree, sam ple som e tasty fresh-made maple candy, smell the wood sm oke and steam from the evaporator as we boil sap to make fresh maple syrup, then hop aboard the horse-draw n SugarBush Express! The SugarB ush Express takes you on a leisurely, guided ride to our rem ote upper sugar bush and back for only $1 per person. Leave plenty o f time to visit the Pancake Pavilion where we will be cooking up fluffy pancakes, waffles and sausages sm othered in fresh maple syrup all day long!
