Casson and fellow Group of Seven members Franklin Carmichael, Fred Varley, J.E.H. MacDonald. Lawren Harris and Tom Thomson this Saturday from 2-5 p.m. A.J. Casson was bom in Toronto where he attended art classes and worked as a freelance commercial designer. Casson was a Fine watercolourist who, with Carm ichael and F. H. Bridgen, founded the Ontario Society of Painters in Water Col.our in 1925. The following year, Casson accepted an invitation from Carmichael to join the now famous Group o f Seven. Limited edition prints will be avail able for sale and guests of the art show will be eligible to win one print, which has been donated by the residents of Churchill Place. Proceeds from the draw will be donated to the Juno Beach Centre, a charity which Churchill Place will raise funds for throughout the year through its activities.
