The longtime Oakville resident has lived in the ward for more than 42 years, during which time she's served in numerous elected and non-elected roles. Mulvale served as the Regional and Town councillor in Ward 5 during the early 80s. "It is time for a strong, articulate voice to speak to the issues and opportunities that concern the people of Ward 5 at both the Town and Region of Halton," she said in a press release. "It has been an honour and privilege to serve this amazing community since 2000 and I look forward to the opportunity to continue for four more years," Knoll said on Facebook. The 47-year-old and his wife Michelle live in Oak Park and have five children. Mulvale has more than 23 years of municipal experience, serving the majority of that time as mayor until 2006, when she lost by just campaign to regain her once held seat. She is also a former president of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO), and was the Progressive-Conservative candidate for the former Oakville-Milton riding in 1993. Knoll currently serves as a member of the Halton Police Services Board, the Oakville Public Library, the Halton Regional Administration and Finance Committee, the Oakville Administrative Services Committee, and the Halton Housing Advisory Committee, and as chairman of the Halton Region Audit Sub-Committee.
