He is sure to have adults and kids alike up on their feet for the entire show. This "must see" perform ance takes place on Friday, June 21, from 9-10:30 p.m. in Towne Square. Performing Saturday night on the Towne Square stage from 8-9:30 p.m. is Sonora Habanera, the perfect music to enjoy on a warm summer evening. This group comes together as the result o f the joint effort made by several experienced professional Cuban musicians. This eight-piece band clearly represents the heritage, culture and richness o f Cuban music. Their musical program offers a unique blend o f different styles of Cuban music including Salsa, Timba. Latin Jazz, Guajira, Chachacha, Son. Bolero, and much more. T heir show also features some traditional Cuban dancers whose movements, costum es and energy set the pace for people to get ready to dance and start moving to the Cuban beat! On Sunday afternoon. Downtown Oakville welcomes back the Excelsior Jazz Band, fam iliar faces to downtown having played at the Downtown Oakville Jazz Festival and Autumn Festival. They are a six-piece traditional jazz band playing in the Dixieland/New Orleans style with a repertoire comprised o f several hun dred selections including blues, spirituals, marches, show tunes from the 20's, 30's, and 40's, and novelty numbers. This band has been featured many times at Harbourfront and the Toronto Jazz Festival and CBC recorded one of their performances for national broadcast. They have also recorded two television shows for the series "Peter Appleyard Presents" that was sold to networks worldwide. Excelsior Jazz plays in the Towne Square on Sunday.
