www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Thursday, September 18, 2014 | 4 Break-ins target electronics in Oakville and Etobicoke Halton police are investigating a break-in to the Best Buy store in Oakville Sunday night -- and haven't ruled out the possibility it may be linked to a similar crime in Etobicoke the same night and possibly others. At approximately 9:20 p.m., Halton police responded to multiple alarms at the Oakville electronics store on Winston Park Drive where officers confirmed a break-in had occurred. More than $100,000 in electronic equipment, primarily Apple products, was stolen. The investigation was taken over by the Criminal Investigations Bureau break-and-enter team. Video surveillance from the scene showed multiple suspects and numerous vehicles were involved. According to police, four male suspects, with faces concealed, were observed on video surveillance entering the store through its front doors. Investigators believe the incident is connected to others throughout the GTA. Toronto police confirmed a similar break-in took place the same evening in Etobicoke. Both Halton and Toronto police have said they are checking into the possibility the incidents may be related.
