The incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. at the intersection of Trafalgar Road and White Oaks Boulevard. This is the 11th fatal collision on Halton roads this year and the second in Oakville in 2014. "There's always an infectious spirit in the air at this event, which continues to grow each year," said Brad Park, CEO of UWO. This year's kickoff, held at the Winston Business Park, raised $12,000 through pledges for the bus pull and toward UWO's 2014 campaign goal. "This year's campaign will require the entire community to come together to ensure we can meet the need in our growing town," Park said. The fundraising target is less than last year's $4.35 million. First, because the sharing agreement of United Way funds raised among GTA communities has changed. Secondly, that change has resulted in fewer corporate donations expected to come Oakville's way. The UWO, however, hopes gains will be made in this year's campaign to offset a signi cant impact. UWO supports 32 local agencies and helps fund 54 programs.
