The four Etobicoke residents were scheduled to appear in court after being released on bail. Police said a lawyer for the accused had appeared before a court on one prior occasion. A bench warrant was issued for the family members' arrest after their four respective sureties notified police they had all fled. Police said the suspects are now on the run and believe they may have travelled to Poland. The investigation that led to their eventual arrest was launched following a May 14 break-in to a home on Lakeshore Road in Burlington. When no one answered, the woman then proceeded to the side of the house where she entered through a basement window. The woman then appeared at the front door where a second suspect entered the home and together they allegedly broke into locked drawers and stole a large quantity of jewelry, police said. The two fled in a beige Dodge Caravan. Members of the Halton police Burlington Criminal Investigations Bureau were successful in identifying the suspects and later located the vehicle they allege was involved in the break and enter. Police conducted mobile surveillance on June 25, and suspects were then observed operating a grey Honda Odessey van. The individuals were followed to various affluent neighbourhoods in Oakville and Burlington. On several occasions, two women were seen leaving the vehicle on foot carrying flyers. Police said the women approached several homes and entered into their respective backyards before they returned to the grey van. Investigators stopped the van shortly before 2 p.m. that day and three people were arrested. Police said a search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of stolen jewellery valued at approximately $60,000, which had been stolen during a break-in on The Links Drive in Oakville. Search warrants executed at two Etobicoke residences also resulted in the seizure of an unknown quantity of jewelry and cash, as well as the clothing worn during the May 14th incident in Burlington. Police said they also subsequently charged a fourth person in relation to possession of property obtained by crime. Police are now searching for Janina Ferko, 66, Jacek Jedynak, 27, and Sandra Talar, 26. Each is charged with five counts of attempted break and enter, two counts of break, enter and theft, and one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
