COMMUNITY UPDATE Charity dog wash at OakPark hospital `Bring us your dirty dogs' will be the theme of a Charity Dog Wash and Barbecue to be held on Sunday, July 21 at OakPark Pet Hospital to raise funds for the Oakville and District Humane Society. The event will be held from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the animal hospital on Trafalgar Road just north of Dundas Street. OakPark staff will be bathing dogs in exchange for donations. Other activities will include a barbe cue, clowns doing animal face painting and making balloon animals, kid and pet loot bags, and behind-the-scenes tours of the hospital and Doggy Bark'n Fly Daycare, plus draws for door prizes. The Oakville and District Humane Society is a private, non-profit charita ble organization dedicated to the wel fare of animals. The shelter has served Oakville and Milton since 1936. provid ing shelter for lost, injured and aban doned animals, adoption of unclaimed animals, investigations of cruelty com plaints, animal control, wildlife rehabil itation and education. Big Bike for Heart and Stroke returns on July 20 The Big Bike for Heart and Stroke will be back in town on Saturday, July 20. The bike, seating 29-member teams of cyclists and one driver, will be tour ing through Oakville, as 14 groups will be cycling for heart and stroke research.
