A 2 - The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday A ugust 13, 2003 Farm Festival and Craft Show at Bronte Creek Park Bronte Creek Provincial Park is hosting its annual Farm Festival and Craft Show at Spruce Lane Farm this Sunday. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Spruce Lane Farm, originally pioneered and built by the Breckon family in 1899. For the younger visitors, the Friends of Bronte Creek have pony rides, always a popular fea ture at the Farm Festival. Also for the younger set. farmhouse staff have organized Victorian games, as well as a variety of kid's crafts - and face-painting for the farm-fashion conscious. To amuse the older set, the Friends will feature Cowpatty Bingo, a game of chance with a jersey cow as the principle actor. Several craft demonstrations. typical of the work at Spruce Lane Farm during the last centu ry, will be going on simultane ously all around the farm area. These include rug hooking, lace tatting, spinning and weaving, a blacksmith display, and chair caning. In addition, a number of local crafters will display a selection of their work for sale. Visitors will be able to choose from wrought iron, home-made candy, crafted candles, hand-painted boxes, and hand-made toys, jewelry and even blankets, and much more. In case anyone gets hungry or thirsty, the Friends will staff an ice cream and lemonade stand. Bronte Creek Provincial Park is located at the Burloak Drive turn-off, just off the Queen Elizabeth Way.
