13 | Thursday, October 23, 2014 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com Story did not convey the action of meeting Re: Candidates push for student success, Oakville Beaver, Friday, Oct. 17, 2014 The coverage of the Oakville all-candidates' meeting for Halton Catholic District School Board by the Oakville Beaver completely missed the mark. Both Mr. Darnell Vrban and myself challenged the record of incumbent trustees LeMay and Marai on their voting records regarding important issues related to our faith-based education system. Mrs. Helena Karabella was questioned by outgoing, but still sitting, trustee Mr. Ed Viana from the audience. I watched your reporter take diligent notes from the front row of the candidates meeting, but I now wonder how salient points of the debate were missed. To omit the comments of three non-incumbents is a disservice to your readers at best, and an intentional marginalizaton of new, strong candidates at worst. Anthony Quinn, trustee candidate, Halton Catholic District School Board Letters to the Editor Reporting fell short in conveying the mood of Catholic candidates' debate Re: Candidates push for student success, Oakville Beaver, Friday, Oct. 17, 2014 Your article did not represent the mood of the evening. If anything, it clearly missed the mark. The fact that neither Anthony Quinn or myself were quoted is ridiculous, we spoke the most and had the most aggressive comments (as per the other attendees). As well, Helena Karabela was singled out early with a question and answered it honestly and well. For the many voters that were not present they will have the impression that we contributed nothing and probably are not worth voting for. This was an unfair article. Darnell Vrban, trustee candidate, Halton Catholic District School Board MRI technology like you've never seen before An MRI is one of the most sophisticated technologies available in medicine today. New, advanced machines can produce scans with extraordinary image quality enabling doctors to diagnose problems that were a challenge before. It is why it is on the top of our list of equipment needs for our new hospital.
