"Halton is underfunded for special education and underfunded for education infrastructure, particularly for the renewal of older schools," said Vrooman. "I will continue work with the HDSB, the Ontario Public School Boards Association, the municipalities in Halton and the Ontario government to change legislation so that development pays for new schools, reducing the municipal tax burden and Ontario's narrow reliance there upon." Ehl Harrison said she is seeking public office for two reasons -- to change the tone and effectiveness of public education dialogue in Halton through collaboration and proactive and inclusive communication; and because she has energy, passion and new ideas to explore with the community.
