Sponsored by Bookers and the Women's Information and Support Centre o f Halton, the event will feature Dreamer speaking and signing copies o f her book latest book, The Dance. Chantelle b a rb a ra Suzuki concert geared towards children Your Bra Fitting Expert Petite to full figure from A-J Viva Variations!, a special interactive concert for children hosted by the Oakville Suzuki Association, is on Sunday. Feb. 17, at Glen Abbey United Church. The fundraising event, which starts at 3 p.m., is a fun way to introduce youngsters to classical music, instruments and music history. The concert will also feature a narrative which accompanies the music, and a quiz which kids can fill in for prizes. Questions will range from "How many holes are there on a flute?" to "Can you count the varia tions on a theme?" The concert will be performed by the Oakville Suzuki Association's most accomplished students and by staff, and will feature piano, strings and flute. The selections will range from Pachelbel's Canon to fiddle tunes. Admission at the door is $10 for adults, $5 for students or $25 for a family. Valentine's dance benefits French preschool (s r o o c t C elebrate Valentine's Day at the first Coccinelles Ball on Feb. 16, and support Les Coccinelles. Les Coccinelles is a co-operative non-profit, parent-run French language preschool at Ecole Patricia Picknell. Les Coccinelles opened its doors in 1979, in response to a growing demand from Halton's Francophone community for a French preschool. The preschool has become an anchor point for Francophones in Halton. It is the only Francophone preschool in the Oakville-Mississauga area and has served more than 600 children. The Coccinelles Ball will be held at Le Dome % Banquet Hall starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $50 each and are available from Caroline Rounce at 905-469-4800. Proceeds will be used to improving the school's nurturing environment and materials used for its program. Les Coccinelles accepts children aged 21/2 to 5 years. The dancers, aged 10 to 19, will be participat ing in solo and team competitions at the World Irish Dance Championships, a prestigious event. The gala, 'Follow the Yellow Brick Road, ' will be held at the new O akville Banquet and Conference Centre at 2514 Wyecroft Rd. It will include a silent auction, dinner and dance. Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m.. followed by the dinner and dance at 7 p.m. Some o f the dancers going to Scotland will be showcasing their talent after dinner.
