The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday June 25, 2003 - A5 Bacteria levels close beaches Summer's finally here, but unfortunately neither Bronte Park Beach nor Coronation Park Beach will be able to provide safe relief for swimmers looking for escape from the heat. Beachway Park Beach in Burlington and Prospect Park Boathouse Beach and Prospect Park Old Beach on Fairy Lake in Halton Hills are safe for swimming. Milton's Kelso Beach is also safe for swimming. Water samples are taken weekly until the first week of September at all Halton beaches and the results are posted at the beaches and on the Region's Web site at www.region.halton.on.ca/health. In addition the Region oper ates a 24-hour Beach Hotline which can be reached by dialling 905-825-6111 or toll free: 1-866-442-5866 (ask for the beach hotline).
