"From getting my M B A . to playing inde pendent ball, to now' having a chance of being a major league baseball player, she has been a big reason I have been able to do this," says Harvey. " It's the one thing I 'm always going to make sure I remember." And it's definitely something his wife, who met hint while they were both students at California's Pepperdine University, will not let him forget. It seems Audra is still owed a honeymoon from her husband. Five weeks before the cou ple's wedding date on Sept.27. 2001. Harvey was called by Team Canada to participate in the World Baseball Championships in Taipei, Taiwan. Audra laughs, recalling the conversation when he broke her the news: 'Honey. I've been chosen to go to Taiwan.' " That's wonderful, when do you leave?" she responded. Pause and then reluctant reply. `Ahh. the day before our wedding.' Luckily. Harvey was granted a three-day extension, but still had to leave the Monday after his Saturday wedding. So instead of a romantic weekend in Quebec City, Audra ended up as the only wife in Taipei. "When you have a honeymoon with 25 Canadian baseball players. I don't know," she says shaking her head. " I call that a trip, he still owes me a honey moon." However. Audra says baseball has always been part of their lives and does not affect their relationship. "W e never had the luxury of being together for over half a year so we're use to it." she says. She believes the wait to be together w ill lie worth it. Although she's reluctant to jinx it. Audra thinks her husband will play in the major leagues. "1 believe in him and he's a lot further than most people thought he'd go, so I'm on board for the rest of the trip," she says. The voyage continues in March when Harvey reports to spring training, where he w ill try to win a job with the Padres A A A affiliate in Portland, Oregon. By the end of the year, he hopes to make the final step. "M y only goal is to put myself in a San Diego Padres uniform next year and pitch in the major leagues," he says. And maybe, just maybe, give his wife that honeymoon. - Ian Harvev Giant Annual Re-grip -- SALE! -- -- O A K V IL LE - You can have all your clubs re-gripped by our staff of club repair specialists PROGOLF HALTON North S 'rvice Rd.
