Swimmers, basketball and volleyball players headed south to NCAA After training in Oakville together for the past decade, five Oakville Aquatic Club swimmers will be going separate ways south of the border next fall. Hannah Burgess, Abbey Saunders, Emily Ramier, Annika Grewal and Lauren Lalumiere all signed NCAA letters of intent Wednesday and will swim for five different Division 1 schools in the 2014-15 season. Burgess will join Oakland (Michigan), Saunders committed to Rutgers, Ramier will compete for Tulane, Grewal is headed to Connecticut and Lalumiere will swim for Minnesota. Burgess and Ramier currently attend high school at T.A. Blakelock, Grewal and Lalumiere go to Iroquois Ridge, and Saunders is a student at Oakville Trafalgar. Venom products to Big Ten, ACC Oakville Venom teammates Jaelyne Kirkpatrick and Julia Chandler will play women's basketball next season in two of the NCAA's power conferences. Both players are current members of the Canadian cadette women's national team. Many of these names have been here long before I got here," he said. "No one's ever stood up and said we had to make changes, because we never had complaints. But we're in a new era.
