The team bounced back in its next two games, downing Glen Shields and Vaughan by 2-1 scores. Sarah Collins and Petrou scored against Glen Shields while Krush and Collins were the Oakville snipers versus Vaughan. In recent league play, the Wild tied the Oakville Red Stars 1-1. Krush scored with less than five minutes remaining in regulation to salvage a draw for the Wild, which is sponsored by RBC Capital Markets. Under-11 boys Building on its strong performance at a recent tournament in Mississauga, the Oakville Fusion under-11 boys allstar team won the championship at its own regional tournament last weekend. The Fusion won all five of its games, defeating Erin Mills 3-1, Ancaster 8-0 and Clarkson 5-0 in round-robin play, knocking off Dixie 3-1 in the semifinal and rallying to beat the North Mississauga Panthers 3-1 in the final. The Panthers opened the scoring before Oakville got goals from Gabrielle Francouer, Alex Lerke and Jordan Kotsopoulos to take the victory. After two tight wins in the opening round, Oakville faced top-seeded Innisfil in the semifinal and won the game in sudden death overtime. Extra time was needed to decide a winner in the tournament final as well, but the Bulldogs fell 1-0 to Kitchener.
