This year's entertainment will be provided by international singer and pianist Carol Welsman. Besides being able to sing in four languages and play piano, W elsm an's achievem ents include the 2003 Distinguished Alumni Award from the Berklee College o f Music, the 2002 "Jazz Vocalist o f the Year" honour at the National Jazz Awards and three Juno Award nomina tions. She has also sold more than 50,000 jazz albums in Canada. Jazz on the 16 is a fundraiser for the Erchless Estate Historic Wall, Gardens and Fence Restoration Project to restore the M useum's exterior grounds to their 1925 appearance. Phase One of the project will be con struction o f a low stone wall along Navy Street. Additional phases for the project include installation of iron fenc ing, construction o f a new courtyard entrance and restoration o f gardens on the property. Jazz on the 16 will be held from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Tickets cost $100 per per son, or $750 for a table o f eight and are available by calling 905-338-4400.
