The Baptist and Congregationalists will unite on Sunday May 27th. Rev. H.C. Priest will preach in the Baptist church in the morning and in the Congregational at night.

The latest movement in the direction of church union is that which was discussed at a joint meeting yesterday afternoon in the new Baptist boardroom of representatives of the Disciples and the Baptists. The joint committee met to consider the possibilities of framing a basis of union, and found that the two denominations have a great deal in common.

It is hoped by the representatives that they will see their way clear to framing a satisfactory plan on which the two bodies may in the near future be united.

Of course, yesterday's [tear in paper] were only preliminary. The representatives of the two bodies will report to the next respective conventions. That of the Disciples is to meet the 1st of June, and that of the Baptists [tear in paper] The Disciple number a [tear] of several thousand in this [tear] Toronto Globe.
