The Council for 1906 held their last meeting on Monday evening.
The Reeve in the chair, all the members present.
Upon motion of Messrs. Moore and Bell, the following accounts were ordered paid.

The minutes having been read and confirmed the Council for 1905 finally adjourned.
THE NEW COUNCIL
The following Reeve and Councillors-elect made the necessary declarations of qualification and of office as follows: Reeve - John A. Willoughby. Councillors - Frank J. Barber, James A. Bell, Joseph M. Moore, John I. Williams.
ASSESSOR AND COLLECTOR
The necessary By-law appointing an Assessor and Collector of water rates was read the necessary number of times and passed, Mr. Alex McDonald being appointed both.
AUDITORS
Moved by Mr. Bell, seconded by Mr. Moore that R.R. Barber and John McDermid be appointed auditors for the year 1906 and that they receive the sum of $5.00 each for their services. - Carried.
COMMITTEES
The following were chosen: Park - Barber and Moore. Waterworks - Bell and Williams. Fire, Light and Cemetery - Williams and Bell. Streets and Walks - Moore and Barber.
FIRE CHIEF
Moved by Mr. Moore, seconded by Mr. Williams, that Mark Maw be appointed Chief of the Fire Brigade for 1906 - Carried. TO MEET CURRENT EXPENSES
Moved by Mr. Bell, seconded by Mr. Williams that By-law No. [illegible] to enable the Reeve and Treasurer to borrow $5000 to meet the current expenses of the village of Georgetown during the year 1906, until such time as the taxes can be collected, be read a first time. - Carried.
The By-law was read a second and third time and passed.
PARK COMMITTEES REPORT
Mr. E. McCannah, secretary of the Park Committee, reported the profits of the year after paying all expenses to be about $40. There are two large subsciptions still unpaid.
On motion of Messrs Barber and Moore the report of the Park Committee was received and adopted.
There was some discussion as to a new contract with the Grand Trunk for water supply and the Council adjourned to meet on the first Tuesday in each month.
