Local business collecting donations to help Fare Share holiday food drive A food drive is underway at 3 for 1 Glasses in support of Fare Share food bank. This is the 10th year the local business has collected and donated food items to Fare Share, while giving its customers $50 off their purchase with their donation. "We would like to create awareness of this wonderful volunteer-based organization and help them collect as much food as possible by Christmas," stated a press release. "Over the years, we have found Oakvillians to be quite generous." The food drive runs until Dec. 21 at the 220 North Service Rd. W. store in Dorval Crossing Plaza. For more information, call 905-849-1522. · · · This year's Fare Share holiday food drive runs until Wednesday, Dec. 24 with drop-off locations also available at all Oakville grocery stores and fire stations, as well as the food bank at 1240 Speers Rd., Unit 6. Items in short supply this season include: baby food; infant and junior jars of fruits and vegetables; diapers sizes four and six; chunky stew; canned tomatoes and ham; and luncheon meat. Financial donations are also appreciated -- with tax receipts provided -- as they help purchase perishable food items, such as chicken, ground beef, ham, fish, cheese and fresh and frozen vegetables and fruit. As well, a large portion of the money pays for vouchers provided to families with children to use at local supermarkets for items such as milk and eggs. Fare Share volunteer president Nancy Bromberg says food banks are needed now more than ever, especially during the holiday season, when she hopes the community will be extra generous and mindful. 27 | Thursday, December 4, 2014 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com n ow o f f e r i n g P h ys i ot h e r a P y o s t eo Pat h y at h l e t i c t h e r a P y Oakville Denture Centre Free Parking oakvillesportsmedicinecentre.ca 358 Reynolds St. , Suite #11, Oakville 905 337 8455 Still Time to look refreshed for the holidays!
