The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday October 1, 2003 C3 Burl-Oak Theatre revives No Sex, Please - We're British The Burl-Oak Theatre group celebrates its 25th anniver sary with the O akville D rama Series by reviving the ever pop ular No Sex. Please - V V i?'re British by Anthony M arriott and A listair Foot. This was the com ic hit that Burl-Oak originally perform ed in 1978 for the Oakville C entre's second season. This zany farce opens with newlyweds. Peter and Frances Hunter, who live in a flat above a sub-branch o f the National U nited Bank, where Peter is manager. Their new life sudden ly begins to unravel. Due to an innocent mistake by Frances w hile setting up a hom e office, the couple find them selves inundated with pornographic material from the "Scandinavian Import Co." First dirty postcards, then films, then an enorm ous collection o f illustrated books, and finally two devastatingly attractive young ladies eager to provide their decidedly eccentric serv ices. My goodness: w hat will the neighbours think? And then the flustered couple have to keep the secret from Peter's ele gant and snobbish mother, two senior bank officials, a police superintendent and especially. Brian Runnicles, Peter's prim and precise head cashier, and things just go from --well-- you get the idea. O ne o f L ondon's longest running com edies, the show set a record o f 6,700 perform ances.
