The Oakville Beaver, Friday March 12, 2004 - 17 Halton police host recruitment sessions The Halton Regional Police Service is hosting two recruit ment information sessions this month. According to organizers, the events are designed for "com munity minded and service ori ented people who are interested in a challenging career in polic ing, working with a team of professionals who uphold a reputation for excellence, trust, respect, integrity and accounta bility within our community." The first session is March 23 at the Burlington Convention Centre, located at 1120 Burloak Dr. The second session is slated for March 31 at Georgetown District High School, 70 Guelph St. The sessions begin at 7 p.m. Recruiting staff from the Halton Regional Police Service will be on hand to explain the selection process and to explain how to prepare for testing and interview procedures. No regis tration is needed to attend. Applications will be available only to those who provide a resume and valid OACP Certificate of Results. "We're guaranteeing snow," said Ralph Camovale of the Oakville-Trafalgar Lions Club. "We'll be importing it from Sault Ste. Marie. There will be snow on Saturday." Takin' it to the Streets will be held at the Dominion parking lot at Neyagawa Boulevard and Dundas Street from 2 - 3 p.m. Celebrity snow shovelers will be Rock `N' Ray Michaels and Shelly Marriage of Oldies 1150 CKOC's The Road Show, the Hamilton radio station's drive home show. Helping them will be members of the OakvilleTrafalgar Lions Club and the Halton Regional Police Services Canine Unit. Spectators are invited to make donations to the McMaster Children's Hospital.
